An active pest infestation is a health code violation.
Pest Management is vital to grow your business by reputation and ongoing customer satisfaction. Customers who see pests or even just evidence of a possible pest problem would more than likely start spreading the word via social media sites such as Instagram, snap-chat, Facebook & twitter.
Are these the images, videos or feedback you want to become viral?
Putting the negative impact this could bring to your business by loss of customers now think about the impact it would have on your pocket, with the cost of replacing contaminated food and the repair bill for the physical damage to your appliances & structure of your restaurant.
PEST CONTROL FOR SYDNEY RESTAURANTS: KEEPING YOUR RESTAURANT PEST-FREE
As an experienced pest control company PNP Pest Control Sydney implements an integrated Pest Management (IPM) program, which targets both external and internal areas of your restaurant.
Our aim is to protect your current pest problems, but also to prevent future pest problems and investigate the reason the pest problem exists.
PNP Pest Control Sydney will eliminate the things pests need to live and survive, food, water & shelter
In all successful pest free businesses in Sydney, pest controllers work hand in hand with the owner of the restaurant to ensure each party is doing their part to prevent pest infestations by:
ELIMINATING ENTRY POINTS
Pests can enter buildings through doors, windows and gaps or holes within wall cavities. Ensure there are no openings on the outside of the building that would invite pests inside. Entry points can come from issues in the foundations to something as simply as having a door to the kitchen that does not seal correctly. Doors to your restaurant should be fitted with door sweeps and be self – closing.
EXTERIOR LIGHTING SHOULD BE BACK FROM THE BUILDING
Correct placing of external lights could play in an important role in keeping pests away from your restaurant. Ensure that lights are not set directly above the entrance way, rather set them back away from the building but direct the light towards to entrance.
Using Yellow light bulbs can assist in reducing the attraction of flying pests.
CLEAN OUTSIDE YOUR RESTAURANT
Often over looked in Sydney restaurants is the cleaning of the external areas that surround your establishment. Property cleaning and hygiene of these areas would reduce the keeping pests out of your building. Dispose of any discarded rubbish that may be laying around, such as packaging or food waste. Take out the rubbish on a regular basis and place in sealed bins externally.
Take Out the Garbage!
The external areas around your restaurant should be free of litter, trash, foliage and still water sources. If your garden beds are covered with mulch , it would be recommended to remove as rats & mice find mulch a good source of nesting material.
Wash out all garbage containers when not in use and keep them covered.
Plumbing Issues?
All pests need water to survive, leaking taps, recurring puddles of water or water that has collected in empty containers externally can be an open invitation for pests.
If any of these issues are taking place in your Sydney Restaurant call a plumber and have this resolved as soon as possible.
PNP Pest Control also recommends removing any junk piles accumulating in the back such as old kitchen appliances, equipment, pallets etc
CLEAN YOUR RESTAURANT
This goes without saying, but you may just be surprised how many restaurants do close up for the night without cleaning!
Do not leave food out overnight, keep all floor areas clean of food scraps. Any spills should be cleaned up immediately .
This is one area that no Sydney Restaurant should be relaxed about as these areas can attract pests such as cockroaches, ants, spiders, flies, rats & even termites.
All cracks and crevices in the wall or floor areas should be sealed.
TRAIN EMPLOYEES ON RESTAURANT PEST CONTROL
Your staff should understand the importance of pest control in your restaurant, and they should all be aware of what they can do to prevent pests and what they need to do if a pest issue is found.
Many companies use a document called a pest sighting registrar where staff can make a note of what pest was seen, where and when it was seen. Managers and owners should take heed to any employee that reports a pest issue.
The longer a pest issue is left untreated the longer time pests continue to breed and spread out.
An employee who is complacent about sanitation whilst handling food, may ignore a piece of food that drops out of the trash.
With an understanding of how exposed waste in bin areas can attract pests, that employee may be more careful.
USE LOCAL LICENSED PEST CONTROL SERVICES IN SYDNEY
There should be no shame in hiring a Sydney based pest control company for pest infestations for your restaurant.
PNP pest control will visit your establishment, evaluate your pest control protection needs by inspecting the inside and outside of the restaurant for existing pests, whilst also pointing out problem areas that need addressing.
If your business is facing any type or pest issue and you would like to obtain a quote call us on 1300 296 964.

German Cockroach Pest Control Sydney
Generally, with German cockroaches the further they move away from water the larger their populations. Once their nests become over crowded they are forced to go into rooms where there is no easy water supply.
Your pest control consultant will ask you what rooms you are seeing the German cockroaches in
Are they just confined to the kitchen, bathroom or laundry or have you seen any signs of German cockroaches in the lounge room or bedrooms?
How are German cockroaches treated?
PNP Pest Control Sydney uses a paste that is placed inside the kitchen, bathroom, laundry cupboards, behind your appliances and in other specific areas within the rooms that are affected.
How Does the Gel Work?
The gel is placed in the hinges of the cupboards and behind your appliances using a syringe and then hardens. The German cockroaches see this gel as a food source and will feed from it.
As cockroaches lick themselves clean, when they go back to the nest and other cockroaches start the cleaning process the chemical is passed amongst each other inside the nest.

The areas treated will include:
How Does the Bed bug Treatment Work?
For the bedbugs to die they need to physically encounter the chemical.
Once they have come across the chemical it can take up to 10-12 hours for them to die.
This process aids in preventing other rooms being affected by bed bugs.
As bedbugs are nocturnal, it can take time for them to come across the chemical application.
Why are heat treatments for bedbugs not recommended?
For heat or steam to be effective against bedbugs the temperature needs to be between 65-75 degrees for a sustained period. Apart from the risk of fire, burns from the heat and steam areas such as cracks and crevices may not penetrate the heat, deeming the process inadequate.
Heat and steam can also damage furniture and has the potential of causing mould from the moisture left behind after steaming.
Do I need to Dispose my Furniture?
We are often asked about furniture and if a customer should throw their furniture away. We are pleased to inform you there is no need to throw away your furniture as it can be treated successfully.
Disposing bedbug infested furniture, you may create a risk of infestation for those around you.

Internally
We use a low toxic ant bait which will be placed on areas where you are seeing ant trails.
Externally
A spray will be applied around the perimeter of the house.

What you may see:
How are ants treated?
Ants travel through unsanitary paths before they end up in your home, on your counter-tops, in your cupboards and near your food.
Ants externally cannot be eradicated with the traditional cockroach/spider sprays and ants typically will stay away from areas that have been treated with spider or cockroach sprays.
It is common that a company may tell you that ants are covered in their general spray, however what they are not informing you, ants will close off the entry points to their nests and will relocate them to another area.
PNP Pest Controls’ ant treatments do not just eradicate the surface ants, it is designed to eradicate the entire nest of ants and their queen.
What areas are treated?
Internal:
A low toxic ant bait will be placed in areas where ants and their trails are being seen. The ants will carry the bait back with them to the nest, passing it amongst themselves and the queen.
External:
A spray, Termidor, is sprayed around the perimeter of your house
Ant Treatments in Sydney – How Does the Ant Treatment Work?
The ant bait and the Termidor spray work in the same manner where the ants carry the product back to the nest.
Ants cannot detect that the bait and spray are an insecticide they walk over the product, carry it back with them to the nest and pass the chemical amongst each other inside the nest.
This process eradicates the entire nest of ants, including the queen.
By using this process, the nest does not need to be located as the ants will do the work and carry the insecticide with them back to the nest.
Steps that you can take to Protect Your Home from ants
Internally:
Externally:
Is Termidor Safe to Be Used Around Children & Pets?
Termidor has been assessed by the Australian Pesticide and Veterinary Medicine Authority and Commonwealth Department of Health and Ageing and is fully approved for use in domestic situations.
Termidor is water-based and virtually has no odour, will not leach through soil and is not damaging to soil micro-organisms, earthworms and plants. In addition, the active ingredient is used extensively on food crops around the world and as the leading product for flea and tick control on dogs and cats in Australia since 1996.
Termidor has also been safely used in over 4 million homes throughout the USA and Europe.
How Should I prepare my house for pest control?
Internally
Externally
What Should I Expect After an Ant Treatment?
The reason for this is that we need the ants to carry the bait back with them to the nest and by interrupting them it interrupts the process of the ants carrying the bait back with them to the nest.
You may see ants up to 3 weeks after treatment.
If you are seeing ants that are scattered or dying this is your indication that the treatment is working.

AFTER YOUR PEST CONTROL SERVICE
/0 Comments/in Informational, Residential Pest Control /by PnPWHAT TO EXPECT AFTER YOUR PEST CONTROL SERVICE
United in solving your pest issues
The most common questions asked to any pest control company after pest control treatment has been completed is:
Most home owners want to be sure they know what to expect and what steps they should take once the treatment has been completed as they do not want to do anything that may compromise the treatment and they want to also make sure that their loved ones are safe.
Should cleaning be completed before or after pest control?
Ideally PNP Pest Control recommends any deep cleaning is completed before the pest control, including vacuuming and mopping the floors, which would reduce the risk of the pesticides being compromised.
Once the treatment has been completed we also recommend not frequently mopping if possible, if you do need to mop we ask that you refrain from mopping around the edges for at least the first few weeks.
Sweeping & vacuuming is fine (depending on the treatment you have had done and your consultant will advise if there are any changes to this.
Is the pest control safe for children and pets?
Our pest control services are safe to be used around children and pets.
However, some customers may prefer to keep children and pets out of the way while the treatment is being conducted.
Please note: There are some treatments where we require you to vacate the premises for a period of time, this will be discussed with you at the time of booking.
What should I expect after the pest control has been completed?
Certain pest control treatments such as the general spray include dusting the roof void, sub floor, weep holes and all cracks and crevices with a fine dust. It is common to see an increase in pest activity in the first week or two.
This is known as the knock down stage or flushing out period.
In the case of German cockroach treatments, areas such as the fridge, dishwasher, microwave, under cabinets and inside cupboards are treated, the pesticides used will flush the cockroaches out.
Every property is different and because of this what you may or may not see, will vary between property type & external environments.

No bed bugs treatment is 100% effective and there is no way to guarantee that bed bugs are completely gone, and it is for this reasons that the bed bug situation is challenging for the hospitality industry, where a hotel chain’s reputation can be jeopardised by a single bed bug incident.
Sydney Hotel Bed Bug Treatment
Having your hotel reported and/or reviews left on TripAdvisor as having a bed bug infestation requires a rapid and public response.
If your hotel does not have bed bug action plan, you are at risk of losing your reputation and a lawsuit.
There is no way to stop bed bugs from being brought into a hotel. New guests are arriving every day from all over the world and bringing their potentially infested luggage with them. Your hotel can be bed bug free one day and infested in multiple rooms the next.
So, prevention, is early detection!
Bed bugs must be detected very quickly after they are brought in, hopefully, before they bite someone. To facilitate this early bed bug detection, all hotel employees should receive some bed bug identification training.
This includes the reception staff, maids, facilities personnel, hotel managers, event planners, maintenance staff, catering staff, bell hops, cooks, janitors, and absolutely everyone else.
Why everyone? Because your employees are located all over the hotel, and if everybody is looking for bed bugs there is greater chance that you will discover them quickly.
Keep in mind that guests are not the only people capable of bringing bed bugs into your facility.
